I am a computer scientist born in America and currently living in Japan. I have attended Jacksonville State University and Kansai Gaidai University. My ambition is to finish my degree in Japan (preferably at Todai, but wherever I can get accepted is good, too) and then work towards my Ph.D at that same university. From there, I'm not too sure. I have goals all over the place, but the current "plan" is to try to get employed at a university here in Japan - probably the same one I end up graduating from - as a researcher and educator. I would like to start my own game development company one day, so I might branch into that when the time is right. Currently, my goal is to release a few indie games as I complete them on the side, and see where that takes me. If I can earn enough money/reputation from that, and some savings set aside from my "real" job, I'll take the risk of starting a company. But those are future dreams - who knows how things will turn out?
Right now, I'm focused mostly on being a "tourist" during my time in Japan, to get the "holy, hell, I'm in Japan" feeling out of my system. I'm also trying to study and improve my Japanese as much as possible.
